Project Details

Celadyne is rethinking how we power the planet—starting at the molecular level. Founded by Dr. Gary Ong in 2018, the Chicago-based startup is developing next-generation membranes for fuel cells and electrolyzers. Their goal: to make hydrogen energy cheaper, more efficient, and more scalable.

Ahead of their Series A, Celadyne partnered with Omoi to rebrand, develop their pitch deck, and redesign their website. Our challenge was to capture the ambition of their work without defaulting to the sterile, hyper-technical aesthetic common in B2B deep tech, while creating visual and narrative tools to effectively tell their story to investors.

The creative concept took inspiration from The Great Age of American Innovation—drawing from icons like Bell Labs and the optimistic, design-forward spirit of 1970s science and engineering. We built a symbol rooted in the hydrogen molecule, abstracted into a layered form evocative of proton exchange membranes—the heart of most fuel cells and electrolyzers. We paired it with a custom wordmark, a warm yet precise color system, and a typographic approach that blended technical clarity with vintage character.

A major focus of our work was helping Celadyne show the potential of their technology. We created custom 3D renders to visualize the inner workings of their membranes within fuel cells and electrolyzers—translating complex science into clear, compelling visuals for investor audiences. We also designed and rendered a full-scale electrolyzer concept, illustrating how their technology could one day take shape as a commercial product.

In parallel, we helped shape the narrative of their Series A pitch—crafting a story that not only explained the science, but also conveyed the scale of the opportunity Celadyne is unlocking. By connecting their core innovation to the broader shift toward clean hydrogen infrastructure, we helped position them as a critical force in the future of energy.

Through a bold identity, a modern website, and a clear story supported by striking visuals, we helped Celadyne move from materials company to market-shaping innovator—ready to power what comes next.
